Nancy L.
Knight
November 23, 1960 – April 3, 2026
Nancy L. (Knight) Pitts, 65, of Nickerson, Kansas, passed away on April 3, 2026, at Hutchinson Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born on November 23, 1960, in Webster County, Kentucky, to James C. “Dick” Knight and Mary M. (Thompson) Knight. She was the youngest of nine children.
She found joy in reading, knitting, and spending time with her family and friends. In her younger years, she loved listening to classic music and dancing around the house. She also enjoyed what she fondly called “dirt road driving”—backroad drives with the windows down, music playing, and singing along. Later in life, she enjoyed playing games on her phone. Nancy dedicated over 20 years of her career as a front desk receptionist.
Nancy is survived by her husband, James M. Pitts Jr.; her children, Crystal (Brenton) Ensz of Nickerson, Betty McCormick (Aaron) of Hutchinson, Bobby Gant (Bryleigh) of Yoder, Terry Gant of Lansing, Kansas, Cassandra (Geoff) Armstrong of Tucson, Arizona, and Eddie Trammell Jr.; as well as several bonus children.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Yvette (Joe) Jenkins, Johnny Fenton III, Kaedence Armstrong, Jacy Polk, Jesse Parker, Matthew Parker, Ronnie Armstrong, Trenton Ensz, Isabella Ensz, Declan Gant, and Thorsen Gant, along with many bonus grandchildren. She leaves behind four great-grandchildren and nine bonus great-grandbabies. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Knight of Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings; two children; and four great-grandbabies.
