Nellie J. Neuenschwander, 87, passed away April 23, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson and Reno County, she was born on Jan. 8, 1926, the daughter of Albert and Zetta Mae Frye.

She attended Hutchinson schools and was a graduate of Sidney's Hairdressing College and was a hairdresser/homemaker. A member of the Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ, she also enjoyed baking pies and sugar cookies, gardening and canning, sewing, and babysitting dogs for friends and family. On June 17, 1943, she married Floyd W. Neuenschwander in Hutchinson. He passed away on Oct. 25, 2008.

Survivors include: a son, Dennis of Hutchinson; a daughter, Vicky McFarland (Kenneth) of Nickerson; a brother, Bill Frye (Pat) of Hutchinson; three sisters, Clara Ketchum, Maudie Brack, Ora Henry, all of Hutchinson; a grandson, Aaron McFarland of Nickerson; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Burton and George; three sisters, Avis, Peggy, Fay; and a granddaughter, Robin Dawn McFarland.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ, 29 E. Campbell, Hutchinson. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pleasantview Cemetery, Huntsville, Kan. Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ or Fairview Methodist Church, and may be left in care of Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home.
