Norma Louise Vanderree, 93, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away December 3, 2020 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. The daughter of Ernest and Mahala Porter, she was born in Pierceville, Kansas on June 19, 1927. She worked tirelessly as a dedicated homemaker and beautician.
She was an avid fan of Kansas University basketball and rarely missed watching them on television. She was dedicated to the detailed work of crafting tea towels. Her main focus was taking care of her family.
On August 19, 1950, she married the love of her life Dean Vanderree. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1989 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Survivors include: 5 daughters, Maxine ( Richard) Wickliffe, Jeannie Brawner, Kathy ( Stan) Wagler, Carol Streck, Kelly ( Wade) Baker; 1 sister, Nona Morley; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, Gerald Porter, 1 sister, June Powell.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, December 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 East 30th Street, Hutchinson, Kansas. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Boulevard, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Union Valley Bible Church and left in care of the funeral home. Due to COVID 19 guidelines, the celebration of life will be a private family affair.
