Owen Russell, 73, passed away July 25, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. The son of James and Otha Russell, he was born in Tuckerman, Arkansas on September 19, 1942. He held various positions of employment throughout his life, one of which was his favorite, a delivery person for the Hutchinson News.

A member of Eastwood Church of Christ, he also was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, was a MOPAR enthusiast, and loved watching old fashion western movies and game shows.

He married Delana Marie Daniel on April 14, 1962 in Hutchinson, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2016.

Other survivors include 3 sons, Steven (Mary), Brian (Annessa), and, Owen; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Diane, and four sisters.

A gathering for friends will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 from 9:00 - 10:00 followed by a celebration of life at 10:15 am, with Pastor Jimie-Wray Mead presiding, at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. Interment will follow at North Inman Cemetery, Inman, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial fund to Eastwood Church of Christ and gifts may be left in care of the funeral home.
