Randall "Randy" Dennis passed away from natural causes at his home in Hutchinson, on Sunday, July 6, 2014. He was 63.

Randy was born on June 16, 1951. He grew up in Denver, Colo., and attended Lincoln High School. In 1973, he graduated from L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles, Calif., with a degree in Christian Education. After college, Randy was ordained in the Foursquare Church and worked as an itinerant evangelist. While preaching at a church in Wichita, Kan., he met Karen Johnston, to whom he was married from 1975 until 2011. The two began a family in Wichita. The family followed Randy''s ministry to Aberdeen, S.D. and Salina, Kan. and in 1985, Randy was made pastor of the Foursquare Church in Hutchinson.

Randy was a loyal and kindhearted man who took great joy in making others smile. He was variously known to area children as Bonzo the Clown, Santa Claus and the nice man down the street who would give them candy and snow cones. He was known by his friends and family as an avid fisherman, a purveyor of bad jokes and a man of deep religious faith and conviction. One of his proudest accomplishments was his daily Bible reading, which he did faithfully for 43 years without missing a single day.

He is survived by his children, Isaac of Wichita, Kan., and Jonathan of Portland, Ore.; his mother, Virginia Dennis of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Marilyn Minhas of Denver, Colo.; a brother, David Dennis of Lochbuie, Colo.; brother-in-law, Zeke Minhas; sister-in-law, Jan Dennis; nephews, David Dennis, Steve Minhas and Mike Minhas; and his devoted ex-wife, Karen; Karen''s family, Joe, Mary Jane, Marlene, Connie, JC, Joe, Helen, Stacy, Micah, Elisabeth, Rachael, Joe, Jake, Joshua, Sarah and David; and his beloved Chihuahua, Toby "the Tobe" Dennis of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Dennis.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Praise Chapel, 1010 S. Main, Hutchinson, officiated by Pastor Jerry Linn. His ashes will be buried in Springfield, Mo. Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to his church family for their love and support.
