Richard G. LaMunyon, Sr., 87, passed away September 23. 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. The son of George and Katherine LaMunyon, he was born March 20, 1926 in East Shelby, New York.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country during World War II, he returned home and spent the better part of his working career as a tire field serviceman for Cooper Tire. After his retirement he spent his time tinkering old cars, listening to country music while he fished, was a member of the Moose Lodge, and, watching the Price is Right with his great great grandson everyday.

He married Phyllis Morgan in 1944 in Hutchinson. She passed away in 2009. Those surviving are a son, Steven (Nancy) of Hutchinson; a daughter, Linda Allen (William) also of Hutchinson, 11 grandchildren,15 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and his beloved companion Jack Russell dog, Sammy. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 sons - Richard, Jr., William; 1 brother, 4 sisters, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Public visitation will be Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home with the family being present from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Memorial service will be held Friday, September 27, 2013 at 10:30 the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial gifts be made out to American Cancer Association and may be left with the funeral home.
