Robert Ray Adams, 82, went home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2020. Robert was born on September 1, 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a proud employee of Cessna/Eaton for over 40 years, a part of the machinist Union, a devoted follower at the Salt City Cowboy Church, and a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. Robert was beloved as a songwriter, singer, guitar player, Father, and Grandfather.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Adams, wife, Janet Adams, sons; Ray and Rickey Adams, brothers; Verne Adams Jr., Gene Adams, and Lewis Adams.
Robert is survived by his daughters; Jana Adams-Nay and Gena Nelson; step-sons, Michael and Stephen Akins; step-daughters, Michelle Pierson, Toni Akins, and Edie Akins; brother, Donald Adams; sisters, Bonnie Presnell, Virginia Kasselman, and Carol Dannels, 9 grandchildren, Robert Adams, Matthew Nemudrov, Valentina Lister, Shawn Adams, Cody Nelson, Cory Nelson, Nathan Nelson, Dallas Adams,and Kacy Adams; and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 North Main Street, Hutchinson, Kansas on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd. Hutchinson, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial gifts be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and left in care of the funeral home.
