Obituary

Robert “Bob” Cook, 65, of Hutchinson, passed away on July 7, 2026, at the Hospice House. He was born on March 4, 1961, in Phoenix, AZ, to Keith and Martha “Betty” Cook. Bob lived a life defined by hard work, independence, and a willingness to help others.

A 1979 graduate of Hutchinson High School, Bob was a four-sport varsity athlete and carried that same determination and work ethic throughout his life. He spent decades in home improvement, where his skill for fixing things became part of who he was. He enjoyed working on cars, solving problems, and using his hands to make things better. Those who knew Bob knew he had his own way of doing things, and he lived by the words, “I did it my way.”

Bob’s life will be remembered by his children, Bobby, Tabitha, and Casey; grandchildren, Dalton McCroy and Kaden Cook, who knew him as Papa; siblings, Carol Bruce, Lou Massey, Susan Trotter, and Terry Cook; along with numerous friends and family who loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Jay Yadon, and niece, Stephanie Trotter.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Bob on July 15, 2026, at Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home in Hutchinson. The service will begin at 11:00 am, presided over by Chaplain Adam Wooten. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park.
