Obituary

Robert " Bob" Sheldon McCready ( Blevins), 74, retired Metro Xpress long-haul driver, received his final dispatch on May 29, 2020.  He was born on June 5, 1945, in Chanute, Kansas, to Harry G. McCready and Maxine E. ( White) McCready.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Ben H. Blevins, Jr; two sons, Randall and Russell Blevins; stepdaughter, Kandi Clark; companion of 35 1/2 years, Cathy Clark; and three brothers, Sydney, Donald, and Billy McCready.

Bob received his GED while serving in the Army for six years, where he attained the rank of Specialist 5.

Bob is survived by his brothers, A.J. McCready of Modesto, California, James ( Sheryl) Blevins of Jacksonville, Florida, Ben Blevins and John ( Sharon) Blevins of Hutchinson, Kansas;  sisters, Cheryl ( Blaine) Friedline of Overland Park, Kansas, Melody ( Russell) Nikkel of Idabel, Oklahoma;  daughter Ronda Blevins Byrd of Coffeyville, Kansas;  sons, Robert Blevins of Bremerton, Washington, and Roger Blevins of Independence, Kansas;  12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
