Roosevelt Trass, 82, passed away July 18, 2014 at his home in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born August 22, 1931 in Mayersville, Mississippi, the son of Clinton and Janie Trass. In 1952, he married the love of his life, his wife, Lucille. She preceded him in death 2010.
A veteran of the United States Army, he was an established concrete mason and has left several landmarks in Hutchinson and the surrounding area. He was a devoted husband, father, and, grandfather, and also a true friend to so many. He was loved by many, but, God loved him best. He will be missed.
He is survived by 9 sons; Vel Omar Syed, (Roosevelt Trass, Jr.), Frankie R. Reed, Percy A. Turner, Willie C. Trass, Floyd L. Trass, Donald S. Trass, Clinton D. Trass, James Miguel Miles, Victor D. Trass; 6 daughters; Celia A. Garrett, Elnora A. Reed, Patricia N. Trass, Barbara J. Trass, Linda D. Turner, Brenda C. Trass; 2 sisters, Edie B. Williams and Gloriastine Thomas; a host of grandchildren, great grand children, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Public visitation will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. Burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mayersville, Mississippi.
