Rowena Mae Toms, 77, went home to the Lord on January 29, 2019 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born in Liberal, Missouri on June 6, 1941, the daughter of Glenn Reavy Horton and Annie Louise Clarner Horton.

She was a phenomenal seamstress, enjoyed arts and crafts, and loved to travel. She served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. A source of strength and love, she always took time to care for her family, and was always there whenever she was needed.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Renee L. Rempel; 1 granddaughter, Jessica A. Mitchell; 1 great granddaughter, Liliann R. Mitchell; 1 sister, Judy Murray. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Donald R. Horton, Rodney L. Ryan, and Dewayne R. Horton.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held Thursday, January 7, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to the Rowena Mae Toms Grandchildren Education Fund and left in care of the funeral home.
