Roy R. McClanahan, 71, passed away March 30, 2016 in Hutchinson, Kansas. The son of W. A. and Lucille McClanahan, he was born March 20, 1945 in Hutchinson, Kansas.

A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, he was a retired employee for the City of Hutchinson, Kansas. He enjoyed gardening, listening and dancing to country western music. His family meant the world to him.

He is survived by 1 daughter, Margaret McClanahan of Salina, Kansas; 3 sisters, Myrna Cole, Betty Minor, Sonia Morris, all of Hutchinson, Kansas; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother, Grover.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The family has established a memorial in Roy''s memory and gifts may be made to Reno County Alcoholics Anonymous and may be left in care of Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas.
