Russell "Rusty" Leroy Dodge, 63, passed away April 8, 2016 at the Medical Center of Lewisville, Texas. He was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on February 28, 1953, the son of Leroy and Melva June Dodge. He was a sales representative NAPA Auto Parts in Lewisville, Texas.
A member of the 1971 class of Hutchinson High School he enjoyed working and interacting with people on a daily basis, he was fascinated with working on the computer, and enjoyed inventing and making things. His family was the focus of his life.
He married Terry Gayleen Hazell on May 30, 1975 in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include his parents, Chet and Melva Ansel; 2 sons, Corey (Sheila) and Kevin (Yasmyn) Dodge; 1 sister, Frankie Sue (Bob) Robinson; 1 step-sister, Pearl (Michael) Hacker; 3 grandchildren, Alexys, Aiden, and Abbygail. He was preceded in death by his father Leroy Eugene Dodge, 1 brother, Larry, 1 sister, Brenda Huff.
A gathering for friends and family will be Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. A celebration of life will be held at Westside Baptist Church, Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastors Eldon Smith and Tim Adrian presiding. Interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial and gifts may be made to the American Heart Association and may be left in care of the funeral home.
