Ruth Elizabeth James was born on July 7, 1925 from the union of Reverend J.B. and Cora Toombs in Oklahoma.  She was a beloved daughter and faithful sister to a family of sixteen children.

In 1944 at age 19, she married an Army soldier, Henry Lawrence James and from this union, six children were born.  They were married for 26 years prior to his passing in 1970.

Ruth enjoyed raising her children, and subsequently became a 5th generation matriarch of her family - from her children to great-great-grandchildren.  She loved gardening, participating in VFW activities, and making various home crafts.  Ms. Ruthie could come up with a way to fix just about anything.

In passing, Ruth leaves to celebrate her legacy, children Ellery James (Audrey), Charlotte James, Bernard James (Willia), Cherrie Dorsey, and Ronald James (Rita ).

Ruth passed away peacefully in the company of her second eldest son Bernard and his wife Willia on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 6:05 pm.
