Timothy Lee McElheny, 61, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 23, 2019, at Diversicare Health and Rehabilitation Center, Hutchinson, Kansas.  The son of Maynard George and Wilma Joan Dale McElheny, he was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on May 3, 1958.  A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, he had worked in the construction business.

Tim received his GED from Hutchinson High School in 1988. He also graduated from Vocational Truck Driving School and received his truck driving diploma from Wichita Vocational Technical School in 1989.

On August 22, 1981, he married the love of his life, Valorie Kay Votruba in Hutchinson, Kansas.  She survives him after 38 years of marriage.

Other survivors include: 1 daughter, Melissa (Jeremy) Godwin; 3 grandchildren, Ariel Miley- Lynn, J. J. Ray- Lee, and, Lilly Autumns-Rain;  4 sisters, Debra (Curtis) Shankle, Cheryl (Ben) Newell, Susan (Greg) Rickett, and Christina Walters; 1 brother, Randy (Vicky) McElheny; and numberous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, brother in law, Gary A. Walters, one nephew, Nathan Travis Elliott, 6 uncles, and his grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 4814 E. 4th Street, Hutchinson, Kansas with Pastor Luke Helmuth officiating.
