Tom Leon Daines, 68, received his checkered flag and raced to heaven on November 23, 2019 at St. Francis Select Specialty Hospital, Wichita, Kansas.  A life resident of Hutchinson, Kansas, Tom was born May 9, 1951, the son of Leon and Kathleen Daines.  He was a retired truck driver.

Tom was known for his love of cars, racing, and cooking.  He could often be found working on cars and listening to his favorite George Strait music.  When he wasn't working on cars, his attention was turned to NASCAR.  He was a weekly regular at Hutchinson Raceway Park, in the stands, in the pits - anywhere to be near his favorite hobby - CARS !!

On May 12, 1995 he married Patricia Cadle in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include: his sons, Chris Cadle and Eric Williams; his daughters, Wendy Daines and Ashley Williams; his brother, Bobby Daines; his sisters, Patty Bruce and Linda Ramsey; 9 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Tracy, his brother Jack, his sister, Jeanette.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, December 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Hutchinson Wesleyan Church, 528 W. 10th Street, Hutchinson, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Tom Daines Family Memorial Fund and left in care of Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 North Main St., Hutchinson, Kansas 67501
