Virgil Lee Goheen, 87, passed away August 25, 2011, at Hospice House. He was born January 13, 1924, to Jesse L. & Ethel (Hauser) Goheen in Hutchinson. He served in WWII and the Air Force Reserves for six years. He married Marian Ruth Gilliland on September 22, 1956. She precedes him in death.
Survivors include two sons; Daniel, Hutchinson and Stephen, Larned; daughter, Betty Ruth Winters, Wichita; two brothers, Wilbur (Esther) Goheen and Ralph (Dixie) Goheen; sister Donna (Richard) Humiston; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Laymond & Jesse Lee, Jr.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service on Friday, September 2, 2011, at 10am at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Jimmie-Wray Mead officiating. Memorials may be made in his honor to Hospice House of Reno County or The Salvation Army and may be sent to Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Hutchinson. Arrangements may be sent to Fairlawn Burial Park.
