Obituary

Walter Lee Davis, 79, passed away February 6, 2016 at his residence in South Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born September 12, 1936 in Hutchinson, the son of LeRoy and Edna Davis. He was a retired railway chair car attendant.

He graduated from Topeka High School in 1955 and attended Hutchinson Community College. A veteran of the United States Army, he was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, served as building inspector for the City of Wichita, loved to listen to music and dance. Entertaining and taking care of his family was his most important mission.

He is survived by 2 sons; Tracey and Treven Davis; 3 daughters, Tamara Atwater, Tricia Davis, and Mariquita Ware; 1 brother, Tracy Davis; 2 sisters, Maxine Davis and Joyce Henderson; 16 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, LeRoy, 1 sister, Carol, 1 son, Tommy, and a nephew, Dustin Brooks.

Per his request cremation has taken place. A time of remembrance and military honors will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson with Reverend William Green presiding.
