Obituary

Wiley Dean Helzer, 87, entered his heavenly home November 22, 2018 at Diversicare Health and Rehabilitation Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. Born on August 18, 1931, he was the son of George Fredrich and Beulah Wheeler Roberts Helzer. He was a retired landscape foreman.
A member of Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, he loved to garden, go fishing, play board games, and spend time with his family and friends
He married Vivian R. Marshall on February 14, 2000 in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include 2 daughters, Janice (John) Perez, Sherry (John) Castaneda; 2 sons, Craig (Jacqueline) Helzer, John (Jenny) DeLong; 2 brothers, Laverne "Sleepy" Helzer, Lyle Helzer; 3 sisters, Bernita Maris, Lois Fiessinger, Beverly Hall; 7 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Deloris; 1 brother, Harlan; 3 nephews, Timmy and Tommy Wilkinson, and, Phillip Helzer.
Friends may sign the guest register from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. A gathering for family and friends will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, 1319 E. 17 th Avenue, Hutchinson, Kansas. A celebration of life will take place at the church at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Fairlawn Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Apostolic Faith Tabernacle or Dillon Nature Center and left in care of the funeral home.
