William I. Jackson, 63, passed away February 2, 2016 at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas. The son of Clyde and Gladys Jackson, he was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on July 7, 1952. He was a retired automobile mechanic.
He loved the outdoors, especially boating, and listening to his favorite old fashion country and western music.
He married Dianna Hazell on March 7, 1973 in Hutchinson, Kansas. She preceded him in death on May 31, 2013.
Other survivors include 1 son, Johnnie Jackson; 1 daughter, Kim Poindexter (Birtis); 1 brother, Clyde Jackson; 1 sister, Betty Stout; 2 grandchildren, Vivica and Victoria Poindexter; 12 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, Robert.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie, Kansas. There will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts to be made to the William I. Jackson Family Memorial Fund and left in care of Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas.
