Winifred Dee White, 88, passed away March 11, 2017 at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson, Kansas. The daughter of Bert and Gladys May Caywood she was born in Kingsdown, Kansas on January 1, 1929. She was a retired employee for the SRS.

Winnie was a loving, caring mother, grandmother and a devoted sister and friend. She was an avid reader, with a specialty for mystery books and house dcor magazines. She loved working in her garden tending to her flowers, and enjoyed antiques and going to garage sales. A lover of animals, she rescued and took care of cats and dogs. A believer in the Catholic faith, Mother Mary was very special to her. Winnie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

On July 20, 1963 she married Edward Thomas White. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2006.

Other survivors include 1 son, Gregory (Patty) White; 1 daughter, Dianne (Daniel) Christians; 1 sister, Shirley M. Presley; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Phyllis.

A gathering for friends and family will be Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family has established memorials and gifts may be made to Cause for Paws, Inc., or Special Olympics Kansas, and left in care of the funeral home.
